Our Journey
Welcome aboard Marselia Star, a liveaboard borne out of a passion for the ocean, exploration, and adventure. Operating in the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea, our new steel hulled boat, was fully renovated in 2025, and is the only safari boat in the Red Sea equipped with a diver lift. This unique feature, combined with our expertise and state-of-the-art facilities for technical diving (both OC and CCR), sets us apart from the rest.
A Dream Realized
Our journey began with a dream to explore the hidden treasures of the Red Sea and to share these wonders with fellow divers. Our founders, who are higly experienced divers, instructors, and explorers themselves, envisioned creating an experience where like-minded divers could get together, customize their itineraries and dive plans to fulfil their exploration goals, and explore the Red Sea in a way offered by no other liveaboard. This vision was first realized with MV Legends II and now improved on the Marselia Star, combing comfort, safety, and state-of-the-art technical, CCR, and recreational diving facilities.

The Vessel
Designed to accommodate divers of all levels, our steel-hulled boat boasts 12 spacious cabins, modern amenities, and a dedicated diving deck. Each detail of the vessel reflects our commitment to providing a superior diving experience. From the advanced filling stations for technical diving to the comfortable relaxation areas, every aspect of the boat is tailored to meet the needs of our guests.
Adventures Beneath the Waves
The Red Sea is renowned for its vibrant coral reefs, abundant marine life, and historic shipwrecks. Our dive itineraries are meticulously planned to showcase these underwater marvels. Whether you are a recreational diver looking to explore colorful reefs teeming with life or a technical diver aiming to descend into deeper, more challenging sites, our experienced crew ensures a safe and unforgettable journey.
Experience the new Marselia Star
Renovated and refurbished, the new Marselia Star has 12 fully refurbished, modern, air-conditioned cabins complete with ensuite bathrooms and ample storage space within every cabin.
4 Double Suites
Experience some of the best views that the Egyptian Red Sea has to offer from one of our Double Suites. Perfect for diving couples and for those who want to bring a “non-diving” partner with them to enjoy some sunbathing or snorkeling. Your cabin will be cleaned daily throughout your stay and features include 220v electricity, reading lights, storage cupboards, an ensuite bathroom, fresh towels (for both bathing and dive use) and purpose made mattresses for maximum comfort.
8 Twin Cabins
Space and comfort are part of the core design of our twin cabins. With not a bunk bed in sight, cabins on Marselia Star have been developed much more like hotel rooms than liveaboard cabins. Your cabin will be cleaned daily throughout your stay and features include 220v electricity, reading lights, storage cupboards, ensuite bathroom, fresh towels (for both bathing and dive use) and purpose made mattresses for maximum comfort.

Sameh Sokar
Founder of Legends Liveaboards
After spending the early chapters of his life in Cairo, Egypt, and working in the corporate sector, he started diving in 1998 in the Red Sea, and like many, fell in love with the underwater world. After beginning his technical diving journey in 2005 and actively working as a recreational and technical diving instructor, he found his calling with rebreathers in 2009, and again, when he began his journey with Global Underwater Explorers in 2013.
While Sameh is a certified Instructor Trainer for TDI, a PADI Staff Instructor, an IANTD Advanced Mixed Gas Instructor, and an SSI Instructor Trainer, he found the answers he was looking for with the GUE methodology and knowledge base, and deeply believes in its cohesive focus on Education, Exploration, and Conservation. He teaches an array of GUE courses, including CCR2, and is an Instructor Trainer to the advanced mixed gas level on multiple rebreathers, including the JJ-CCR, the AP Inspiration, and the Divesoft Liberty backmount and sidemount units. He is an Advanced Mixed Gas Instructor on the rEvo CCR and also holds an Advanced Mixed Gas diver level certification on the KISS Sidewinder.
His passion for teaching extends to both his staff and his customers, where he mentors and guides them through their development, and excels in teaching them not just what to do, but how to think about rebreathers, and how these tools can be used to further their own goals in exploration and conservation.
Sameh has a deep commitment to conservation, running Egypt's chapter of Ghost Diving, and having under his employ a Biologist and Head of Conservation at Scuba Seekers, running weekly cleanups, as well as technical diving ghost net and marine debris retrievals.
